Quick Guide to the EVOTEK Product Configurator
EVOTEK products are designed to be customisable for a wide range of hydraulic applications and systems. Our products are utilized among others in vehicles for the construction and agriculture industry, lubrication systems for gearboxes in wind turbines as well as various stationary industrial applications. In order to ease the selection of the right product for our customers as well as enable the EVOTEK customer support to offer specific technical guidance, we are introducing the EVOTEK product configurator on our new company website.
The following section shall serve as a guide on how to use the EVOTEK product configurator using the EFPU pressure filter as an example.
Step 1: Selecting the filter type
EVOTEK filters are categorized into 5 groups. Navigation to the category of filters meeting your requirements can be done in the header section of the website. Once in the products section, the navigation sidebar as well as the search function can be used as well.
Suction filters – installed on the suction line to prevent coarse particles from entering the system pump.
Pressure filters – installed on the pressure line and providing direct protection for critical system components such as valves. Next to the in-line installation, a second type of pressure filters is to be directly mounted to the manifold.
Return filters – installed after all system components to filter particles from the fluid before it enters the tank. EVOTEK return filters are either tank-top, in-tank or in-line mounted.
Duplex filters – suitable for continuously running systems for element change and maintenance during system operation.
Breather filters – installed on the hydraulic fluid tank to prevent airborne particles entering the system. These filters can be found in the product category “accessories”.
Step 2: Customizing the filter
To customize a product, values for each product feature have to be chosen in the drop-down menus located next to the product picture.
In order to choose the right values to customize a filter or other product according to the requirements of a specific application, the tabs below the product picture offer detailed technical product information.
The tab “description” gives an overview of the product specifications and general technical data.
The following tabs “performance” and “drawings” should be consulted in the next step. Included are pressure drop graphs for the different filter sizes in regard to the filter housing as well as pressure drop graphs for clean filter elements looking at the different filtration media available. Schematic drawings of the filter indicate the location of connection ports and indicator ports as well as the physical dimensions for each filter size.
Once the sizes of filter assembly and connection ports are determined, the tab “options” should be consulted for choosing the according values in the drop-down menus above.
Each product feature has its own table. First attributes to be chosen are the filter size and connection port. Followed by the selection of optional by-pass valve and its opening pressure as well as the seals. After customizing the housing the filter element – the core component of the whole filter – is chosen in the next table.
While choosing the element it is important to pay attention to the available combinations of filtration media (namely wire mesh, cellulose or fibreglass), filtration degree in µm and the elements collapse pressure. The last step is to choose optional clogging or differential pressure indicators.
Once a value has been chosen for all tables the “Add to Quote” button appears. Clicking the button adds the customized product to the quote list. Several products and configurations can be added to one quote list. The link “Product Added to Quote” as well as “Quote List” will lead to the overview of all chosen product configurations.
